Students who dream of telling the new president of the University how to improve academics can indirectly do just that in the next three weeks.
The Undergraduate Student Government's Academic Assembly members will be soliciting academic concerns from students to compile into a list of recommendations for the next University president, said Steve McGowan, assembly vice-president.
A search is currently underway to find a replacement for University President Bryce Jordan, who will retire in August.
Members will formally request student input at each college's student council meeting, McGowan said.
The assembly currently has a tentative list recommending improvements in academic advising, reduction of class sizes, increased study abroad programs and a revision of physical education requirements.
In other business, the group unanimously approved USG election codes to ensure the smooth running of this year's elections.
Academic Assembly is the student government body responsible for representing academic concerns to the University administration. It is made up of a representative of the Faculty Senate and each College's student council.
