Board may alter plans for new downtown building

The developer of the proposed Rider Building III, West Beaver Avenue and South Burrowes Street, told the State College Design Review Board yesterday that the present plans for the site may change to allow a remote teller machine.

Jack Risheberger said he will be seeking a zoning variance to allow a remote teller machine to be placed in the basement parking area of the building.

In other business, the board:

-- Recommended that plans to expand Cafe 210, 210 W. College Ave., be sent to the State College Planning Commission.

-- Sent to the commission plans to build a new turning lane on College Avenue in front of the planned Gateway Apartment Building III, 747 E. Beaver Ave.

-- Decided to recommend three sign changes to the borough's sign officer: Elby's Motel, 1661 S. Atherton St.; Plaza Gulf, 705 S. Atherton St.; and Hull's Floor Coverings, 210 W. Hamilton Ave.
