Despite the University's request for a 12.7 percent increase in state appropriations in 1990-91, Gov. Robert P. Casey's budget proposal would increase the University's overall funding only 2.8 percent.
 
J. David James has resigned as Undergraduate Student Government Senate Vice President, USG Senate President Ron Marlow announced at last night's meeting.

The women's basketball team wants to join the Big 10 and join it quick. With the Atlantic 10 still undecided about when it will oust Penn State and the Big 10 unsure about what it will do, Rene Portland doesn't want to be a coach without a conference.
 
Women need to support each other and act as role models for women's athletics to survive, let alone prosper, Dr. Dorothy Harris said last night in a speech in honor of National Girls and Women in Sport Day.
