Get serious
Well Chino, I've got to hand it to you . . . you finally figured it all out. I'm surprised we got this far without somebody discovering our plan. Yes, it's true, we chose not to stop the inflow of drugs into our country and we hate blacks so much that we've created AIDS for the sole purpose of destroying all blacks. Just a few more years and the whole plan may have been carried out. GET SERIOUS! It is a sad but true fact that a small number of whites actually do feel this way but some of your accusations are simply preposterous. The recent capture of Manuel Noriega to bring him to the United States for trial on drug charges and the Colombian drug war are just two examples of what our government is currently doing to stop the flow of drugs into our country. At the expense of time, money and people, we are doing everything within our legal rights to fight this inflow. On Feb. 15, President Bush will meet with leaders in Columbia for a summit on how to combat the world's drug trafficking problem. The personal danger Bush will put himself in proves how devoted he is in the fight against drugs. Now the notion that the AIDS problem is the result of a government experiment gone awry is not as farfetched as some people may believe. But the belief that it was meticulously created to destroy all blacks? I find that impossible to believe. The reason for the high AIDS rate in Africa is probably due to the poor and unsanitary conditions present and not because it was "dumped" there. At this very moment, scientists are working towards finding a cure for this horrible disease. And while I am not familiar with the Tuskegee experiment, that took place almost 20 years ago when, sadly to say, racism was in full force. Radical conditions are not nearly that poor now. While I found your entire column distressing, the most shocking statement was when you said, "We will use any means necessary, including violence" to end racism. What would violence solve? Most probably, it would increase the number of whites that feel negatively toward blacks and create even more racial tension. Martin Luther King, solely responsible for the greatest advances in black rights advocated PEACE, not violence. One final problem with your column. You stated that "We, especially black people, know the government could stop the drug flow." The attitude you convey is that blacks are more knowledgeable and more superior than whites. You, as well as many others, must realize that everyone is equal. Adolf Hitler and World War II is an example of what beliefs such as this can ultimately do. Just days ago, great strides were taken in South Africa toward the end of apartheid, and all over the world peace is becoming more apparent. Please don't ruin the progress taking place by putting forth these ridiculous notions.
