Squirrel found dead, pinned to a cross on HUB lawn: A squirrel was crucified sometime during the weekend and stuck on the HUB lawn, University Police Services said.
Steve Muller, a Housing and Food Services employee, discovered the squirrel attached to a wooden cross, at 6:50 a.m. yesterday, University police said. Police believe the crucifixion was tied to the recent appearance on campus of religious activist Josh McDowell.

Leather jackets reported missing from coat room: Two leather jackets were reported missing from the coat room of the Beta Sigma Beta fraternity, 255 E. Fairmount Ave., just after midnight Sunday, State College Bureau of Police Services said.
One of the jackets, owned by Timothy Everett, is valued at $190, police said. The light brown leather, bomber-style jacket was reportedly taken sometime between midnight and 1 Sunday morning, police said.
The other leather jacket belongs to Troy Taylor of 218 Shunk Hall. Police said jacket was taken sometime around midnight from the coat room. Taylor's jacket is brown and is also valued at $190, police said.

Traffic light 'on the blink' after accident with truck: A traffic light at the corner of North Atherton Street and Pollock Road was damaged early yesterday morning when a tractor-trailer driver took a corner too sharply and knocked over the pole supporting it, State College police said.
A truck driven by Lee K. Ray, 46, of Manila, Ark., suffered light damage, but police said no cost estimate was available for either the truck or the traffic light.

Theft: Ellen Perry, an employee at Rec Hall, reported the theft of $345 from a referee's locker room, University police said. Police identified the victim as John Schleyer, no address available.

Theft: Three rings belonging to Christine A. Magee, 320 E. Beaver Ave., were reportedly taken from her apartment sometime between Jan. 31 and Feb. 4, State College police said. No signs of forced entry were apparent in the apartment, police said.
One of the rings is a gold ring with a ruby valued at $160, police said. The values of the other two rings, a gold signet ring and an emerald ring, are not known.

Theft: Joseph Millen, 304 Geary Hall, reported the theft of his clothes from the fourth floor laundry room of the dorm. The value of the clothes was $205, police said.
