Letter to the Editor
End racism peacefully
I am surprised that the Collegian would allow columns to be printed that are so completely outrageous and threaten violence as did Chino Wilson's column on Friday, Feb. 2. The basic claim of Mr. Wilson's column was that the government allows AIDS and drug importation to continue because there is a "subversive plot" in the government to "kill all African-Americans." He also went on to claim that the government not only allows AIDS to continue, but also "paid geneticists vast amounts of money to create" the AIDS virus. I normally would have ignored this nonsense and would have assumed that I accidentally picked up a copy of The National Enquirer, but, Mr. Wilson followed this up with threats of violence (presumably to the white government leaders). He stated that, "If anyone should be sending out (mail) bombs, it should be us." He also finished be saying that "We will use any means necessary, including violence, to insure that (African-Americans) can live without fear." Mr. Wilson's obvious hatred of white people and threats of violence only add fuel to the fires of racial hatred. I hope that all people will help to bring an end to racism through the peaceful means advocated by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
