It has been said before that coverage for the National Hockey League by The Daily Collegian has been lacking, but the Jan. 31, 1990 issue simply takes the cake.

The previous night, there were six games on the NHL card, including what has turned out to be one of today's hottest rivalries in the league -- the Philadelphia Flyers vs. the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Any game between these two powerhouses has quite an impact on hockey fans, especially those in the state of Pennsylvania.

That morning, I flipped through my issue of the Collegian expecting to see an article on the game. Unfortunately that was not the case. I did not find any coverage concerning the Flyers/Penguins game, or any other game for that matter.

It is time that the editors of the Collegian realize that there are many avid hockey fans here in Happy Valley and should provide them with the NHL coverage that they desire.
