  • Car slips on ice patch and flips over on its side: A car rolled onto its side after slipping on an ice patch on Boalsburg Road in College Township yesterday morning, State College Bureau of Police Services said. The driver was uninjured.

Noreen L. Khoury of Lemont was driving north on Boalsburg Road when her car hit an ice patch, State College police said. Khoury, 43, lost control of the vehicle and it turned 180 degrees and ended up on its right side. The vehicle required towing.

  • Man starts car, drives off, but lugnuts were unfastened: A car owned by James Leiden of Patton had its lugnuts removed from a rear tire and a cover from the front of the vehicle while it was parked on 200 S. Bernard St. Wednesday night, State College police said.

Leiden told police he realized the lugnuts were removed when he moved the car and the wheel fell off. Police said Leiden found the lugnuts near the vehicle. No other damage was reported.

When Leiden discovered the lugnuts, he noticed the covering, known as a car bra, was missing. The car bra was worth $150, police said.

  • No passengers in hit car, but witness watched incident: A 1984 Chevrolet Celebrity was observed hitting a parked car in Parking Lot 80, University police said.

David Miller reportedly saw the car hit another vehicle belonging to Curtis F. Chapman, 1221-A Old Boalsburg Road, and leave the scene. The front right fender of Chapman's car was damaged and the passenger door will not open, police said. No damage estimate was available.

Police have a suspect and are continuing to investigate.

  • Absent car exhaust leads police to another offense: A man who was initially stopped for not having an exhaust system on his truck also was cited for improper vehicle registration, University police said.

The motorist was stopped in Parking Lot Blue A when it was discovered the plate on his Toyota pickup was not registered to be on that vehicle with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, police said.

The license plate was confiscated and the man was cited, police said.

  • Burglary: Kumiko Higman, 82 Graduate Circle, reported that $500 was taken from her apartment sometime between July 1 and Jan. 31, University police said.

  • Disorderly Conduct: A University student was cited for disorderly conduct after he was caught urinating in the bushes outside the HUB at 2:52 yesterday morning, University police said.
