Letter to the Editor
Listen first
I am writing in response to the many conversations which I have heard around campus concerning "JOSH." Just like any other student-run organization, Campus Crusade for Christ is advertising an upcoming event. Their marketing technique is unique, instead of tacking posters around campus they have used a single word to get people to notice their event. Most of the talk I have heard recently has been negative. My question is, would Campus Crusade have gotten the same response to this campaign if they weren't a Christian group? If your answer is yes, then it is your right; however, I see few people complaining because there are Spring Break advertisements all over campus. For those people who are condemning "JOSH" because of the Christian ideals behind the campaign, I am asking you to please give this group the respect they deserve. It is true that there are groups or individuals on campus who attempt to spread the Word of God through preaching but this group has not done this. As a matter of fact, the group has been very tactful about their publicity. Before cutting down something yu don't understand, take the time to learn. If you really understood "JOSH" and what he stands for, I know that I would have heard few if any of the conversations I heard this past week.
