Death is result of head-on collision on Route 994: A 17-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the scene by the Huntingdon County coroner after her vehicle crashed head-on with another car Saturday, 20 miles south of Huntingdon County, Huntingdon State police said.
Georgia Lynn Hiles of Ridgley Street in Huntingdon was traveling west on Route 994 when a car driven east by Richard Sunderland, 17, of RD 1 Mapleton crossed the center of the highway and crashed into Hiles' vehicle. Sunderland, in critical condition, was taken to the University's Hershey Medical Center, Huntingdon police said.
The accident occurred near Cromwell Township. Police do not know what caused Sunderland to cross over the highway.

Vehicle severely damaged in hit-and-run accident: A Curwensville man's car was severely damaged and had to be towed from the scene after a collision with a hit-and-run driver Friday night, State College Bureau of Police Services said.
Timothy Haney told police his car was hit when it was on East Beaver Avenue near Hetzel Street at about 9:50 p.m., police said. Haney reported his car was hit by a gold Plymouth which fled the scene, police said.

Aaronsburg man in hospital after crash with school bus: An Aaronsburg man was sent to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville after an accident with a school bus at 7:49 a.m. Friday on Route 192 in Miles Township, Rockview state police said.
Steve Rossman, 33, lost control of his truck on the snow-covered road and entered the opposing lane of traffic, police said. The truck struck the school bus, driven by Shirley Taylor, 35, of Centre Hall and came to rest in a cornfield.
Rossman was trapped in the truck and complained of shoulder, neck and back pains after being extricated, police said. Taylor and two passengers in the bus were not injured.
Both Rossman's truck and the school bus were severely damaged, police said.

Man's jaw broken in fight he was trying to stop: A State College man had his jaw broken and lost several teeth after a weekend incident at an apartment party at 320 E. Beaver Ave., State College police said.
Robert Faichney, 20, also of 320 E. Beaver Ave. was assaulted by two males at an apartment party during the weekend, police said. Faichney said he was attempting to stop a fight when two of the men involved hit him.
Charges are pending, police said.

Man reportedly knocked down by men in assault: A State College man reported he was assaulted by five males at 1:30 Saturday morning, State College police said.
George Rudisill, 20, 711 University Drive, said he was walking on the 600 block of East Prospect Avenue when he was confronted by the group. One of the men used a stick to knock Rudisill to the ground and then continued to hit him, police said.
When asked if he had any money, Rudisill told the men he had spent all his money and they left the scene. Rudisill could not give a description of the men, police said.

Two trespassing incidents reported from same address: Two trespassing incidents were reported at the same apartment building at 478 E. Beaver Ave., State College police said.
Kathleen Silvis told police that at about 4 a.m. Jan. 27, she awoke and found a man walking around in the bedroom of her apartment. She yelled at the man and he left, police said.
Lisa Ludovici, who also has an apartment at 478 E. Beaver Ave., reported similar circumstances during the weekend, police said.
Neither one of the apartments was locked according to police.

Intoxicated men arrested following scuffle with RAs: A group of intoxicated men were apprehended by police and resident assistants while in the process of damaging a fire alarm in the lobby of Shunk Hall early Saturday morning, University Police Services said.
The group was observed damaging the alarm by resident assistant Steve Hrvoich. The individuals resisted apprehension with the RAs and then University police officers. They were cited for public drunkenness, harassment and criminal mischief and released, University police said.

Burglary: Three camps in Snowshoe Township reportedly have been broken into, Philipsburg state police said.
Damage estimates for the three camps, Sutter's Place, Luce Pockets and Mountain View Camp, were not available. Police are attempting to notify the owners of the camps.

Criminal Mischief: Eight males reportedly tipped an Allison Park man's car on its side early yesterday, causing damage to the right side of the car, State College police said.
Scott Roberts told police that at about 4:17 a.m. the men flipped his car on its side while it was parked at the 200 block of East Beaver Avenue.

Theft: Tracy Morse, 313 Shultze Hall, reported the theft of a pair of boots, valued at $100, from her dorm room Friday morning, University police said.

Theft: James Petro, an employee at Pattee Library, reported the theft of a book and recorder from Lending Services in Pattee Library, University police said. Total value of the two items was $175.
