A male University student was charged Friday with the rape of a female student in his room at the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity on Dec. 3, according to State College Bureau of Police Services.
Al J. Romanelli, 21, 409 E. Fairmount Ave., was arrested on charges of rape, indecent assault, unlawful restraint and false imprisonment, police said.
The victim -- who reported the incident to police Jan. 17 -- said she had attended a party at the fraternity and was later raped in Romanelli's room, police said.
A preliminary hearing will be held Wednesday in the Centre County Courthouse in Bellefonte.
