The overall chairman of the nation's largest Greek fundraiser -- the annual dance marathon -- says organizers should receive monetary stipends, and a University administrator agrees.
 
Although the U.S. Supreme Court recently ruled that colleges and universities must disclose confidential peer review records in discrimination cases, University officials believe the ruling will not affect the promotion and tenure process here.
 
Questions of grading-scale equality for graduate and undergraduate students taking the same classes came under scrutiny at the Faculty Senate meeting yesterday.
 
Members of the Faculty Senate approved a resolution yesterday to support the University's affiliation with the Big 10, although some objected to the administration's lack of consultation prior to the decision.
 
The Graduate Student Association last night approved a proposal that would reserve 700 parking spaces in Parking Lot 80 for graduate students.
 
Burning the midnight oil, students from all colleges on campus have opted to take advantage of the new 24-hour opening of Pollock Library and continue their studies into the early morning hours.
 
Responding to student need, the University will open Findlay Computer Lab as its second 24-hour computer facility next month.
 
By approving representation of the International Student Council on the President's International Council, the University has assured that students will always have input in its organization, administrators said.

Despite a recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling and state legislation restricting abortion rights, local pro-choice advocates still remain positive as they celebrate the 17th anniversary of Roe vs. Wade decision legalizing abortion.

A preliminary hearing will be held at 2 this afternoon in Centre County Courthouse in Bellefonte for theft charges filed against suspended Undergraduate Student Government Senate Vice President J. David James.

Trying for its fourth win against Villanova in four years, the men's swimming and diving team faces the Wildcats (6-2) at 4 this afternoon at Dupont Pool.
 
Penn State's possible foul trouble, lack of rebounding and Maryland's quickness were the major concerns the women's basketball team had before last night's game at Maryland.
 
Ed Fogell moved into 10th place (1,023 points) on the men's basketball team's all-time scoring list last night as Penn State became the the first team to defeat St. Bonaventure at the Reilly Center this season, 73-59.
