In the negligence lawsuit that Dr. Veronica Prego has filed against the King's County Hospital (The Daily Collegian, Jan. 11), I find the questioning of defense lawyer Stanley D. Freidman quite out of line. I cannot see the link between exposing the doctor's personal life and proving the source of an AIDS infection. Although I can understand the questioning of her sexual history as it is a possible source of AIDS infection, I cannot understand the point of the other personal questions she was asked. Perhaps it's just me, but I fail to see what marriage problems, pregnancies and abortions have to do with AIDS. I cannot help but wonder if the questioning wouldn't follow a different line if Dr. Prego was a man. Would the lawyer ask him how many women he had impregnated, of those, how many had abortions, and if he was having marital problems?
