Various Centre County counseling service officials say they foresee little or no change in their operations under the state's new abortion restrictions. The closest abortion clinics to State College are in Harrisburg.
 
The Lesbian and Gay Student Alliance last night voted unanimously not to support the State College Borough's proposed fair housing ordinance.

When Jim Marsh was 11 years old, his mother decided to take him and his younger brother to the local Hungarian-American Athletic club for free fencing lessons.
 
Going into last night's game at Duquesne, the men's basketball team went gunning for its first road win of the season. Standing in the way was a team with an 11-game losing streak and a not-so-secret weapon.
 
With about six minutes left in last night's women's basketball game, Dawn Chambers was driving to the basket when suddenly just as she was to put up a shot, she was bowled over by a Rhode Island defender.
 
Lock the doors and put the children to bed, this one got ugly. After a lackluster first half, the 21st-ranked women's basketball team turned up the intensity in the second half and demolished Rhode Island, 92- 51, last night at Rec Hall.
