  • Late-night grabbing incident on College; man flees scene: A woman walking along College Avenue was grabbed from behind by an unknown male early yesterday morning, according to statements by State College Bureau of Police Services.

    The woman was walking past 400 E. College Ave. at about 2 a.m. when a man grabbed her from behind, police said. When the woman pushed him away, he allegedly grabbed her again.

    When the woman called for police assistance the man had fled, police said.

  • Naked man apprehended by police outside Haller Hall: A male wearing only a sock on his right foot was apprehended by police along McKean Road yesterday morning, and later cited for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness, University Police Services said.

    The man, whose name was unavailable, was sighted by a night receptionist at 5:50 yesterday morning in Ritner Hall, and police were notified. The naked man left the scene but police apprehended him, wearing only a pillowcase, outside Haller Hall.

    The man told police he had been staying with a friend in Ritner Hall and left to use the bathroom, only to find the door locked when he returned. He said that he found the pillowcase and was attempting to return to his home on Fraternity Row.

  • Burglary: The home of Bruce Woomer of Howard was entered between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesday and $2,045 worth of guns, jewelry and other miscellaneous items were taken, Rockview state police said.

  • Criminal Mischief: A car belonging to Karl Hosterman, 967 Southgate Drive, was damaged when someone deflated one of its tires and scratched the side sometime between Jan. 9 and Jan. 10, State College police said. The car was parked at the same address.

  • Theft: A wallet belonging to Charles C. Maker, 238 E. Fairmount Ave., was reported taken from room 64 Willard Building sometime between 11:15 a.m. and 12:05 p.m. Tuesday, University police said.

    Maker told police that the wallet and its contents, valued at $100, were taken during his class in 64 Willard. Maker left the class of about 200 people for several minutes and when he returned it had been taken from his book bag, police said.

  • Theft: A 1976 blue Jeep Cherokee belonging to Greg D. Hunter, Bellefonte, was reported taken at 11:30 Monday night from outside 114 Daniels St., Pleasant Gap, Rockview state police said. No cost estimate was available.
