Members of the Junior Panhellenic Council -- an offshoot of the Panhellenic Council consisting of pledge class members -- will participate in a leadership conference on Sunday in the HUB.
Patricia Farrell, associate professor of leisure studies at the University, will speak about leadership-related topics, said Tracy Herth, Panhel secretary.
Afterward, group discussions will take place on issues concerning the pledging period and everyday life, Herth said. Trained student counselors will present the programs, she said.
Each pledge will attend two programs, which they chose beforehand, Herth said. Ten programs are being offered, treating topics ranging from leadership skills and time management to rape awareness and eating disorders.
Herth said the conference was organized by the Junior Panhellenic Council and 550 sorority members are expected to attend.
