Using funds received from Gov. Robert Casey, the University will be building a coal desulfurization research and development facility and a coal-water-slurry test facility at University Park for the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences.
Following review of total research costs, the University will charge more to private agencies conducting research in Penn State facilities to cover $2 million to $3 million in unrealized indirect research costs.
