Philadelphia opponent next for ruggers

Injuries are always a concern in sports, but if any players from the Rugby Club get hurt, they won't have to look far for a diagnosis when they take on the Philadelphia College of Medicine at 1 tomorrow.

The Ruggers opened their home schedule last week with a 16-10 victory over South Pittsburgh, and Coach Bruce Hale expects a tough game this week as well.

"From what I understand, they're a competitive medical school team," Hale said. "Obviously they're going to have a lot of graduate students and a lot of people who have played before. They have been involved in the graduate level playoffs the last couple of years, so they have to be fairly decent."

Both the A and B teams played well against South Pittsburgh last week, and Hale said he will move some people around for tomorrow's game.

"I think we're going to take a good look at selections on certain people who have shown us something," Hale said. "I know for sure we'll be missing one or two backs this week, and we're going to shift some people around."

The Ruggers will be at the mercy of the weather and the groundskeepers as to where they will play tomorrow. The team expects to play on its field by the flower gardens, but in case of poor weather the game may be moved to the field behind Beaver Stadium.
