Recently, there has been a particularly vicious campaign of racism and malicious propaganda on the part of a Neo-Nazi hate group at Penn State.
This group has over the past several months been disseminating various flyers and pamphlets, labeled "Holocaust Revisionist Letters," by soliciting, passing them out at various locations on campus and most recently, (Thursday, March 16), mailing them to most Non-Jewish, and Non-Black student organizations.
They attempt to disguise their true nature behind a coating of lies, pseudo-logical arguments, misinformation and disgusting jokes such as "The true recipe for human soap."
The printed material comes from a group called the Committee for Open Debate on the Holocaust, and its aim ostensibly is to deny the Holocaust ever occurred.
This is merely a convenient front for various Anti-Semitic, Neo-Nazi, White Supremacist hate groups such as the Ku Klux Klan, the New Order, and the Aryian Resistance Organization.
From the platform of "Holocaust Revisionism," these groups use "rational arguments" and "evidence" to gain an audience for their hate propaganda, and to develop new avenues of expression for Anti-Semitic themes; especially conspiracy theories accusing Jews of manipulating the news media, and financial and political institutions.
The fundamental tenet of these groups is to blame Jews for anything from the ridiculous to the sublime, or any disaster, natural or otherwise.
As an example, the latest pamphlet sent by this group to various organizations and campus leaders asserts that the Jews are responsible for the "Starvation of millions of Ukranians
Among other contributors to this publication is Pastor, R.J. Goetjen who attempts to sanctify Anti-Semitism by equating the Jew with the devil, hence, "If we love the good, we must hate the evil. If we love God, we must hate the devil. If we don't hate the devil, we don't love God."
He goes on to assert, "Are not those who promote untrue Holocaust stories themselves promoting hatred against a nation of people?" The pamphlet is mockingly illustrated with pictures from Alice in Wonderland.
In one cartoon "Alice observes eyewitnesses preparing to recall the detail of human soap factories," as if it is all make-believe.
By opening up this 40-year-old wound, these "Holocaust Revisionists" are trying to distort and re-write history, making the Nazis look like great people, and in effect saying that the Jews invented their own murder.
Not to mention the pain and agony this causes the survivors of the concentration camps. They are telling the victims that they were never assaulted, and fantasized the whole event.
That these hate groups can still derive anymore satisfaction over the dead bodies of millions of victims is amazing.
It is a final injustice to the more than six million men, women, and children cold bloodedly slaughtered by the Nazis with no regard for human life, to take the only thing left to them: the acknowledgement of their existence.
To deny the Holocaust ever occurred is equivalent to saying slavery never occurred. It is a cruel and evil abomination.
We, as Penn State students, should be on the lookout for the bigots and hatemongers among us, so that we can expose them and bring them out into the open. Let us drive them back under the rocks from which they crawled out.
Let us rise and combat the disease of racism and bigotry!
