No vote
I did not vote in the recent USG election. Now I support the democratic process, so before you start calling me a communist I would like to tell you why I did not vote. My reason is quite simple -- USG is a JOKE. USG accomplished only two things this year. First, they (supported) an open University budget -- so what? Does the average University student really care how much Bryce Jordan makes? My life certainly has not changed since it was published. The second thing USG did this year was extend the Campus Loop hours. Now all of us drunks have a safe and courteous ride home. So now you are probably thinking, "Well, why don't you run for a USG seat and make some changes?" I would never want to be within a sneeze's radius of this "organization." I certainly do not want to be associated with a group consisting of holier-than-thou members who would gladly argue over the time of day. Do you think the University administration really takes USG seriously? After reading the intentions of some of the USG candidates in the March 22, 1989, Collegian, I can say "no" quite confidently.
