Disturbed
I, as well as other students of Penn State, am deeply disturbed at the agriculture administration's decision to reorganize the Circleville Student Farm. Since its creation, the underlying principle behind the Circleville Student Farm is to aid students in the understanding and application of agriculture principles and practices with on-hands experience. This cannot be done in a classroom situation. Where will students of agriculture go to get this experience without the use of the Circleville Student Farm, since it is the only one of a kind in the University? The farm has been meeting these obligations and would like to add classrooms to the farm so more courses can utilize it. Also, some mandatory agriculture classes would be added in the future to enhance the quality of education in the field of agriculture production. Employment opportunities exist at the Circleville Student Darm and workshops are held there and many other things. The University has a responsibility to provide its undergraduate and graduate students with an education worth the paper its printed on. The Circleville Student Farm helps increase this education by offering on hands experience to the students. Why should the agriculture administration remodel or "fix" Circleville, since it is not broken? Brian Newcomer
