Airplane damaged after it drifts into sock pole: An airplane sustained $1200 in damage when it struck a directional windsock pole at the University Park Airport yesterday, University Police Services said.
The airplane, belonging to Dennis Gordon of Norristown, drifted from its parking place at the airport, 2535 Fox Hill Road, and struck the pole, police said.
The plane was not secured properly in its space and the emergency brake may have slipped, police said.
No one was in the plane when the incident occurred.

Theft: A purse and its contents valued at $230 were reported missing from 123 Chambers Wednesday, University Police Services said. The items belong to Cynthia Kempinen, police said.

Theft: A clarinet valued at $500 was reported missing from 71 Willard yesterday, University police said.

Criminal Mischief: A car battery valued at $230 was removed from a vehicle parked in Lot 44 Tuesday by an unknown person who also damaged the interior of the vehicle, University police said. The battery belongs to Jeff Grove, 458 E. College Ave., police said.

Criminal Mischief: A car owned by Ernie Sharken, 415 S. Atherton St., sustained $80 damage when an unknown person walked on the hood and damaged the grill while it was parked on Burrowes Road yesterday, University police said.

Hit and Run: A car owned by Andrew Kleeger sustained minor damage yesterday when it was struck by an unidentified vehicle while it was parked in Lot Green B, University police said.
