NEWS
 
Nominations are now being accepted for the "Outstanding Office Personnel Award," an award to acknowledge the efforts of office employees who University faculty have grown not only to depend on, but also to appreciate.
 
A University student has been honored by the Pennsylvania Association for Adult Continuing Education as a 1989 Outstanding Adult Student in Higher Education.
 
Although the Centre County Regional Planning Commission is updating its comprehensive plan of the area and asking the community to express its concerns, some community members said their voices will be insignificant compared to the University's.
 
The end is in sight for seniors graduating this May, but some have been crossing off their calendars for longer than the traditional four years.
 
On Monday night, University students and local residents were greeted on East College Avenue with a conglomeration of state, borough and University police cars, lights flashing, gathered to arrest two burglary suspects.

The Faculty Senate approved legislation yesterday giving students a greater number of late drop credits.
 
The Collegian Inc. Board of Directors will select a new Daily Collegian business manager tonight for a one-year term beginning April 28.
 
Students' football tickets missed a $2-per-game price hike delivered to public season ticket holders Monday by the University's Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
 
High school and college minority students interested in health careers can pursue their interests through several University-sponsored programs during the summer.
 
Programs geared toward improving safety and increasing crime awareness could improve safety conditions, a University official said.
 
 
SPORTS
 
For kings of the hill, every game is played on the edge and upstart-minded teams always are attempting to score the major upset. Being ranked No. 1 doesn't help, either. In fact, it just makes the underdogs hungrier.
 
Coming off a tough tournament, the women's tennis team will have to bounce back when it matches up with Bucknell at 3:30 this afternoon at the Penn State Tennis Club.
