Two Blair Co. men charged after State College arrests: Two Blair County men were charged with receiving stolen property Monday night after police apprehended them on East College Avenue earlier that evening, officials said yesterday.
Ronald Frank Young, 20, and Brian Christopher Davis, 19, both of Bellwood were arraigned before District Justice Ronald Horner on one count each of receiving stolen property and possessing instruments of crime, a court spokeswoman said.
The men are suspects in two burglaries that reportedly occurred in Blair and Huntingdon counties, Rockview state police said.
They were being held in the Centre County Prison yesterday in lieu of $2,500 bail, the spokeswoman said.
State police said Young and Davis are believed to be involved with the burglaries of the Oak Spring Winery in Altoona and the Biglow convenience store in McAlveys Fort, Huntingdon County.
"The suspects were arrested on warrants from the state police in Hollidaysburg," the state police spokeswoman said.
Items believed taken sometime between Sunday and Monday from the Oak Springs Winery were reportedly found in the suspects' car when they were arrested Monday, she said.
Rockview state police were not sure when the Huntingdon County incident occurred.
The men were apprehended at the intersection of East College Avenue and Sowers Street by officers of the State College Bureau of Police Services, University Police Services and state police.
A preliminary hearing for the two has been scheduled for March 29 in the Centre County Court of Common Pleas.
