A tax workshop sponsored by the Graduate Student Association will be held tonight at 7:30 in 101 Kern.

GSA is holding the workshop to aid graduate students who have questions about filing their federal income tax return. Richard McCarl, associate dean of the graduate school, will field students' questions.

GSA Vice President Jim Leous said the association is providing the workshop as a service to the many students who have tax questions. However, Leous said students should not expect help filling out the actual application.

Changes in tax laws since 1986 have caused much confusion about the taxation of fellowships and assistantships, McCarl said.
