PSU police search for male suspected in weekend assault: A female University student was indecently assaulted at knifepoint outside a dormitory Saturday morning by a unidentified black male, University Police Services said.
The suspect allegedly put his hand over the woman's mouth and knocked her to the ground around 2 a.m. outside Sproul Hall on the southwest side.
He pressed a switchblade knife to the victim's cheek and reportedly threatened to kill her, police said.
The man unzipped the woman's pants and also grabbed her breasts, police said. The victim was able to flee after she struck him in the groin with her knee, according to reports.
She ran into Stone Hall and the suspect fled the scene, police said.
Police compiled a composite of the suspect from features described by the victim. The black male, aged 19 to 20, is described as five feet eight inches tall, weighing about 185 pounds.
The suspect faces charges of aggravated assault, indecent assault and terroristic threats, police said.

Student treated and released after seizure near local bar: A University senior was injured Saturday afternoon outside a Pugh Street bar after he suffered a seizure and struck his head on the street.
John Hrico, 22, 138 S. Atherton St., was injured outside the All-American Rathskeller, 108 S. Pugh St.
Hrico, a civil engineering major, was in line to enter the Rathskeller when he had the seizure and fell onto South Pugh Street, where a moving car narrowly missed striking him.
He was treated and released from the Centre Community Hospital Saturday evening, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Hrico suffered a concussion, and was treated in the hospital for a scalp lacerations and loss of blood, said Paul Loy, Hrico's roommate.
Many students, gathered for the Rathskeller's annual "case races," were lined up outside the establishment and witnessed the event.

Student selling concert tickets arrested by PSU authorities: Police identified a University student Saturday who they contend was selling concert tickets at a greater price than stated on the ticket.
University Police Services said they apprehended a Sproul Hall resident who was selling Grateful Dead show tickets at $30 above the actual price.
The actual price of the ticket was $19.75, but he was selling them for $50, police said.
The man faces summary charges for an amusement law violation.

Mountain bicycles missing from three S.C. residences: Three mountain bicycles belonging to borough residents were reported missing or taken over the weekend, authorities reported.
A bicycle belonging to Eric B. Komar, 321 Fraternity Row, was reportedly taken sometime Friday from his residence, the State College Bureau of Police Services said. Loss is estimated at $450.
Another bike, the property of Keith A. Grimm, 224 Bellaire Ave., was reportedly taken sometime between Feb. 17 and Thursday from 600 E. Prospect Ave., State College police said. Loss is estimated at $275.
A mountain bicycle belonging to Craig L. Goldberg 238 E. Fairmount Ave., was reportedly taken sometime between Saturday and Sunday from 112 S. Garner St., State College police said. Loss is estimated at $250.
Police did not say whether the three incidents were related.

University student reports 2 coat thefts over weekend: Though the weather was unseasonably warm this weekend, it was a cold two days for a University student, authorities reported.
Two coats belonging to Julie Kang, 336 Thompson, were reportedly taken over the weekend, State College police said.
The first coat, a wool jacket valued at $100, was taken Friday from the Phi Sigma Delta fraternity, 240 E. Prospect Ave.
The other coat, a denim jacket worth $65, was reportedly taken Saturday from the Beta Sigma Beta fraternity, 255 E. Fairmount Ave., police said.

9 cars in local parking lot damaged in vandalism incident: Nine cars were reportedly damaged between Saturday and Sunday while they were parked in a lot at 925 Bellaire Ave., State College police said.
Police said the antennas and windshield wipers on the cars were bent and several side mirrors were damaged.
No damage estimate was available.

Three students with piano could face conduct charges: Three men in Geary Hall were apprehended for possessing a University piano early Sunday, morning, University Police Services said.
Authorities identified three male students on the fifth floor of Geary with a piano taken from the lobby of Geary, police said.
The men reportedly intended to place the piano in the elevator shaft, police said.
The students will probably be referred to the Office of Conduct Standards for internal discipline, University police said.

Two wallet thefts from bar may be related, Pa. police say: Philipsburg state police are investigating two thefts that occurred at an area bar early yesterday morning.
An unidentified man took an alligator skin wallet, containing $29 and assorted credit cards, from a purse owned by Marva Burfield, 23, of State College, state police said.
Another wallet, owned by Kathleen Molden of State College, was taken from her purse by an unidentified male, police said. That wallet contained $13 in cash.
The two incidents occurred between 12:30 and 1 Sunday morning at Chay's Bar, on Route 350 in Rush Township, police said.
Police continue to investigate the incidents, which they say may be related.

Collision at campus corner damages cars, hurts no one: A two-car collision on campus Saturday caused minor damage to one vehicle, University Police Services said.
Heidi M. Sampson of Sugarloaf, traveling north on Shortlidge Road, struck a car driven by Ko-Yi Chu, 720 Stratford Drive, when Sampson turned west onto Pollock Road.
Sampson struck the front left corner of Chu's car with the front left corner of her vehicle, police said.
Chu's car sustained minor damage in the collision, police said.
Neither driver sustained injuries.

Theft: Stereo equipment valued at $350 belonging to Suken Shaw, 303 Fraternity Row, was reportedly taken sometime between Wednesday and Thursday from the basement of his residence, State College police said.

Theft: Two traffic control signs valued at $240 were reported taken from Stone Valley Recreation Area sometime Friday, University Police Services said.

Theft: A stereo system and 30 cassette tapes belonging to Michael Mothersbaugh of Spring Mills was reportedly taken sometime between Thursday and Friday from his car while it was parked along Route 45 about one quarter mile east of Boalsburg, State College police said. Police said Mothersbaugh's vehicle was disabled at the time. Loss is estimated at $239.
