The University revealed previously unpublished budget information Friday, but student leaders active in the campaign for an open budget said a line-by-line budget disclosure is still needed.
 
"Very interesting information" received last week has given borough police new leads in the 1987 murder of University senior Dana J. Bailey, one officer said yesterday.
 
Reversing an earlier decision, the Penn State Bookstore on Campus announced it will stock "The Satanic Verses," Salman Rushdie's controversial novel.
 
The University's College of Agriculture is conducting a statewide search for minority high school students to participate in a summer apprenticeship program.

Penn State wrestlers captured four titles, a third place finish, two fourths, and a wild card place at the Eastern Wrestling League Tournament Saturday night at Clarion to qualify eight of its 10 wrestlers for the NCAA tournament (March 16-18).
 
With both Penn State's and West Virginia's women's basketball teams sporting identical 12-6 records in the conference after Saturday's games, a tie-breaker was needed to determine home-court advantage. Both teams won at home to split the season series.
 
Without junior Karl Abraham in the lineup, the men's gymnastics team knew it would have a more difficult time against opponents over the break. Abraham, one of only three upper classmen for the Lions and an all-arounder, quit the team the Monday before spring break.
 
At the 1989 Eastern Women's Swimming League Championships held Feb. 23-25 at McCoy Natatorium, the women's swimming and diving team placed second as expected, but came away with a few surprises.
 
More than 12 hours after they set out on their journey for cold Canada, the Penn State ice hockey team gathered together in a sea of blue in the left wing corner of the Niagara Knights' home rink.
