Guillo Silva leaped in the air to block a quick set in a match against Ohio State on Jan. 25. When he returned to the ground, he landed on the foot of a Buckeye player. His foot twisted and pain flared in his ankle as Silva severely sprained it.

It took almost 12 years of competitive swimming for Penn State's Kristen Elias to arrive on the international scene. As a sophomore in college, she qualified for the Pan Am Games held in Indianapolis, Ind., in the summer of 1987.

COWBOY JUNKIES The Trinity Session (RCA)

Two diverse artforms found a common forum last week when the Palmer Museum of Art sponsored its third annual poetry contest. The winners, University students enrolled in poetry classes, were assigned to write poems inspired by paintings in the museum.

People don't usually go to see a Broadway show expecting great art. They go expecting great entertainment.

"Experimenting with photographs" should have been the title of the exhibit two University seniors opened in Lemont last weekend.

Watching the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre dance The Great Gatsby Saturday night was an immersion of the senses.
