The Center for Women Students and the Women Studies Program will co-sponsor "A Birthday Commentary and Celebration" in honor of Susan B. Anthony at 8 tonight in the HUB Gallery.
The presentation will begin with the film "One Fine Day" illustrating the achievements of women from the 18th century to today. Kathleen Barry, author of Susan B. Anthony: A Biography, will lead a discussion in tribute to Anthony after the film. Birthday cake and refreshments will be served.
Born on Feb. 15, 1820, Susan Brownell Anthony became the pioneer crusader for the suffrage movement in the United States. Her accomplishments paved the way for the passage of the 19th amendment in 1920, which gave women the right to vote.
