Pro-life
I am deeply saddened at Christie Strub's (forum) of Jan. 26. Pro-Lifers and Pro-Abortionists can bicker back and forth about the issue but the fact remains that one pre-born child is being murdered every 20 seconds. As proven by medical research, in the first three months of pregnancy (the usual time of an abortion) the baby has a heart beat and brain waves. The baby can squint, swallow, make a fist, kick and suck its thumb. ALL THE BODY SYSTEMS ARE WORKING. Granted the baby is not fully developed but neither is the baby once it is born. Children are not fully developed (physically) until about the age of 18 but does society take away their Constitutional rights? The answer is obvious. Women and young girls entering the abortion clinics do not want to kill their babies but they are not thinking clearly at that point. Women having abortions are not educated with the facts of what they are doing and are acting out of fear for whatever reason. To them abortion is the only answer. Yes, it is an easy solution to the problem but whoever said life was easy? What happens after the abortion when they have to deal with severe guilt and depression? Where are the people who said it was O.K. to have abortions because it was their own body? Woman considering abortions have to realize that there are alternatives to abortion. Assistance in whatever means (financial, physical) is provided by people who work in such centers as the Crisis Pregnancy Center. Adoption is a realistic answer to those who do not want their child. There are a lot of people who care about the woman and her child. I speak as a woman. I feel that I should have control over my own body but the baby growing inside is an individual whom I have no right to decide the future of. Take this story for example, if I am pregnant and I decide to sell my baby's kidney because I need the money and I feel that the kidney is mine, then what do I say when my child grows up and asks,"Mama, where is my other kidney?" How do I explain that what I once thought was mine is now his. Where is the sense in that? Yes, it is true that "the subject (pro-life) has been scarcely left alone," and I am glad that Ms. Strub noticed because this proves that pro-lifers are making an impact and are making those who support abortion question the validity of their beliefs. Pro-lifers are working on behalf of the unborn child who cannot speak so that the baby can have a chance to see what life is like outside the womb and Pro-Lifers will continue working with respect for all women and the ultimate respect for life until innocent babies are no longer being aborted.
