The Pittsburgh Symphony will perform at the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts in the summer of 1990, a symphony spokesman said yesterday.
Stephen Berwind said the symphony is currently in negotiations with the Arts Festival to perform in the summer of 1990 for one week.
An arts festival spokeswoman confirmed the symphony's scheduled appearance, but said a final performance date will not be decided until next month.
State College also is being considered as one of many possible sites for the symphony's summer retreat, Berwind said. Plans for a summer retreat here, however, are still "up in the air," he said.
The Pittsburgh Symphony currently travels to Great Woods, Mass., for a four-week retreat in the summer.
