Congress came to campus yesterday when University transportation experts testified before members of a U.S. House of Representatives subcommittee that is investigating various aspects of transportation research.

Discussions about sex on campus are usually reserved for amusing party stories or late-night contemplations with roommates, but approximately 80 students attended "Sex on Campus -- Are Penn State Students at Risk for AIDS?" yesterday afternoon in Kern Auditorium.

Recent congressional lobbying which would bind the National Institute of Health to continue to fund artificial heart programs could help extend the life of the electric heart program at the University's Hershey Medical Center, a physician at the center who is involved with the program said last week.

Specifics of a bill to lighten the tax burden on graduate students may be drafted tomorrow when the U.S. House of Representatives' Ways and Means Committee meets to discuss a technical corrections bill.

The University's Office of Conduct Standards released its May disciplinary update publicizing reported instances and resolved actions taken against students for misconduct.

The Centre Region Council of Governments wants your old newspapers.

State College Borough Council last night voted to amend an ordinance which would prohibit non-Arts Festival vendors from soliciting in the borough during this year's Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts.

ARTS

The Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts Sidewalk Artists' Preview, on display in the Formal Gallery of the HUB through July 9, offers an opportunity for people to preview works by artists participating in the 1988 festival.

The Durham Bulls, a minor-league North Carolina baseball team, recruits Ebby Laloosh, a million dollar pitcher with a five cent head. The young rookie can throw a ball 95 miles per hour, but he sometimes has trouble with his control. As his trainer describes it, he couldn't hit water if he fell off a boat. Further, Ebby has the temperament of Billy Martin, and his idea of success is fast cars and even faster women.
