More than 1,400 athletes will compete in the Pennsylvania Special Olympics this Thursday, Friday and Saturday here at University Park.

For the men's golf team, the spring season was successful although it ended on a sour note.

Senior shortstop Nan Sichler, named the Atlantic 10 Tournament's Most Valuable Player, and sophomore Cathy Kaminski, the tournament's Most Valuable Pitcher, helped the softball team to the A-10 Championship May 6-8 at the University of Rhode Island. The Lady Lions clinched the title with a 3-2 victory over defending champ University of Massachusetts .

HAVERFORD--It was a feeling the Penn State players knew well.

The baseball team wallowed through a tough season filled with extensive losing streaks, injuries to two key players and the loss of Assistant Coach Jim Farr.
