Reading lists for English courses are causing controversy within university English departments nationwide, as faculty argue about whether the lists should include women and minority authors who previously have gone unrecognized, even though their works contain literary merit.

The Undergraduate Student Government's Academic Assembly voted 14-0- 1 against a package proposal to extend University Student Executive Council seats to three organizations at its meeting last night, because non-students are part of one group.

The softball team (26-16) will complete its regular-season schedule at 4 today at Lady Lion Field against Atlantic 10 opponent Rhode Island (15-25).

The men's volleyball team has maintained a consistent offense throughout much of this season. The Lions have managed to do this by changing their offense to make it more varied and diversified.

The men's swim team was honored Tuesday night at the student-athlete awards banquet for achieving the highest total grade point average among the 28 collegiate teams at the University.
