Capturing the Lunsford Award for the second year in a row, the Interfraternity Council excelled in the Northeastern Interfraternity Conference held in Baltimore last week.

South Halls President Dominic Mattioni was elected president, and Pollock area representative David Shimo vice president of the Association of Residence Hall Students last night. Both ran uncontested.

Plans to construct a two-level, 540-space parking terrace on campus have been delayed until the summer of 1989.

When University President Bryce Jordan asks the state House Appropriations Committee in Harrisburg today for more funding, he plans to emphasize how Pennsylvania needs Penn State.

One of the goals of the new OTIS administration is to increase public awareness that the Organization of Town and Independent Students is here to help with more than just property rental problems, newly elected president Sherri Rutolo said.

A voters' primary registration drive held Saturday at the Nittany Mall by the League of Women Voters of the State College Area has been a success, the league's president said.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va.--Senior guard Tom Garrick exploded for 32 of his tournament-record 50 points in the first half last night as second- seeded Rhode Island thrashed Rutgers, 104-73 in an Atlantic 10 quarterfinal game at the WVU Coliseum.

The men's swimming and diving team finished a distant third behind Princeton and Harvard in the 25-team field at the Eastern Championships March 3-5 at Brown University.

Scoring points in every event, the women's swimming and diving team placed second at the Eastern Women's Swimming League Championships Feb.25-27 at Harvard University.

Despite winning performances by Steve Balkey, Eric Carter and C.J. Hunter, the men's indoor track and field team finished third at the IC4A Championship last weekend at Princeton.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- The men's basketball team has once again been sent home early from the Atlantic 10 Conference tournament.
