One University crime expert said recently the length of the Dana Bailey murder investigation -- one year -- is not unusual, but as time goes on, the case may become harder to solve.

A summary of the overdue autopsy report on Dana Bailey, the University student found stabbed to death in her apartment at 132 S.Allen St. one year ago, was filed Friday with the Centre County Prothonotary's office.

You're a college student stuck at home in the summer without a job and you decide you'd rather do class work than watch the passionate love affair between Richard and Joan on your favorite soap opera.

Death, in any form, is a humbling experience filled with sombering moments of introspection and reflection. Memories of a loved one may seem equally harsh and uplifting to those seeking refuge in the past, and with the passage of time, the edge of bitterness fades.

Efforts by student leaders have done little to prompt officials to provide more information for students and State College residents regarding the murder of University student Dana Bailey.

A University student died Saturday morning following a two-car collision in Potter township.

The following is a chronology of the events surrounding Dana Bailey's death and the investigation that has followed, compiled from published reports:
