With the increasing popularity of computers, students may be finding computer centers installed in their dorms, said the director of the University Computer and Information Services.

Regional Liquor Control Board officials and local police are viewing the Interfraternity Council's proposal to enforce the legal drinking age by carding students before serving alcohol as positive, but long overdue.

For about 30 seconds last night, State College and parts of campus were in the dark.

Men and women involved in relationships have to respect their partner's culture if they want to make things last, the Rev. Cecil Gray said last night at a program commemorating Healthy Loving Week.

People must deal with and understand the concept of race in order to get along better with others, a member of the Encampment Task Force on Diversity said at a workshop yesterday.

Legislation introduced by Rep. Lynn B.Herman, R-Centre, to provide tax relief to State College failed to pass in the state House and will now go before the Senate for discussion as an amendment.

The Graduate Student Association will hold a tax workshop for graduate students to answer any questions they may have about current changes in the taxation process at 7:30 tomorrow night in 112 Kern.

A Penn State tuition increase appears imminent for the 21st consecutive year as Gov. Robert P. Casey recommended yesterday to fund only 3.4 percent of the 19 percent increase in state appropriations requested by the University.

At January's NCAA convention, Division I-A schools voted 98-13 to discontinue an NCAA subcommittee's research on a one-game Division I-A football championship, and both University athletic officials and bowl game directors are satisfied with the vote.

University athletic officials attending January's NCAA convention said they voted upon important eligibility and financial aid legislation that will affect student athletes here and across the nation, although the meetings did not receive the attention they sometimes have in the past.

Thomas L. Zarrilli, 19, a Western Carolina University student, pleaded guilty yesterday in U.S. District Court in Harrisburg to mailing a rigged M-18 smoke grenade to the dorm room of two Penn State University students last year.

Students will match wits tonight for the presidential candidate of their choice during an informational debate in the HUB Assembly Room.

The Undergraduate Student Government Senate last night asked the USG Supreme Court to reject Students Opposing Pornography's application to become an official student organization, saying the group violated University regulations.


SPORTS

Three Pennsylvania men were recently elected into the Pennsylvania Swimming Hall of Fame, located in the McCoy Natatorium.

Midge Hutchinson, Mike Cardonick and Jim Reed scored two goals apiece last night as the ice hockey team built a four-goal lead and held on for an 8-6 win over the University of Arizona at the Ice Pavilion.

Everything hasn't turned out as the men's basketball team had hoped this season. But after a recent string of victories, the squad could still accomplish some of its pre-season' goals.
