Streamlining the executive departments has became a task for the Undergraduat e Student Government president and vice president as a number of executive changes go into action to boost efficiency.

Members of the Centre Region Council of Governments last night in a workshop compiled a list of problems COG faces and possibilities for enhancing cooperation between municipalities in the future.

When last night's American Music Awards were preempted by President Reagan's State of the Union address, half the crowd in one TV lounge filed out to their dorm rooms and those who remained switched the channel to watch college basketball.

Despite the snow, more than 90 students protested on campus yesterday in an effort to draw attention to the plight of Palestinians in the Middle East, and nearby a small group of pro-Israel students also gathered.

Two escaped convicts got an alarming wake-up call from University Police Services early yesterday morning.

During yesterday's pro-Palestinian march on campus, representatives from campus Jewish organizations attempted to publicly offer a peace letter to leaders of the march, but were rejected, though the letter was later accepted in private.

Ebony and Ivory, a race relations event sponsored by two University fraternities, will not take place this year.

The majority of parishioners who attended services Sunday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church of State College voted to rebuild the church at its present site, 250 E. College Ave.

The Undergraduate Student Government's Department of Women's Concerns will remain in USG, department members and USG executives recently decided, despite a recommendation that the department strike out on its own.

The transition from Baccalaureate Degree Requirements to General Education courses, and the tax status of graduate students, will be discussed at the Faculty Senate meeting at 1:30 this afternoon in 112 Kern.

Under a new structure, the Undergraduate Student Government could accomplish its primary goal regaining a position as the representative voice of the students, some USG members have said. But others doubt the reorganization plan's feasibility.

Snow removal on campus is a slippery business.

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y.--There certainly must be more difficult tasks than advancing a college basketball program from Division II to Division I, but St. Bonaventure Women's Basketball Coach Mary Jane Telford would probably be hard pressed to think of any.

After a disappointing weekend where it lost its first meet to an Eastern opponent in eight years, the men's gymnastics team can still look upon two shining prospects from the two meets: its ability to bounce back after a loss and the performance of freshman Adam Carton.
